Gunner's Moon (Cider Press, 1996) is a 32 page chapbook collecting Roy Zarucchi's unflinching poems of the Viet Nam War drawn with such an incisive eye to detail that we are reminded again of the agonies of war and absence. A strong and vital collection.

Andrena Zawinski's Greatest Hits (Pudding House, 2001) gives us twelve beautifully crafted poems with a distinctive voice and imagination. Fresh, savvy and ironic, sensitive yet tough-minded, these make for fine reading. (Andrena is Features Editor at this site: Poetrymagazine.com.) This Is Not a Prayer (Pudding House, 2004), by Fredrick Zydek, may not be a prayer but it is certainly a fine, linguistically inventive collection of twenty-three poems, all titled with a disclaimer that they are not curse, or explanation, or confession, or whatever. They are brilliant and this is a must read.
